For the next year, Fulbright MENA will be showcasing a handful of students as they study in the United States with their new series, A Year in the Fulbright Life. Each month, spotlighted students will share an update as they continue on their Fulbright journey.

November 2021

This year was my first time experiencing snow, and I got to enjoy it on campus at Michigan Tech. Saying goodbye to fall was heartbreaking but welcoming all the snow was also exciting for me as I’ve never experienced it before! Living in Africa for 15 years and then the south of Lebanon for seven years made it difficult to experience snow. Waking up every morning and witnessing this amount of snow made me feel warm and happy! Welcome winter, I have been waiting for you for so long!

Houssein a 2021 Fulbright student from Lebanon. He is studying Mechanical Engineering at Michigan Technological University.
