A Year in the Fulbright Life: Ebrahem’s Story
For the next year, Fulbright MENA will be showcasing a handful of students as they study in the United States with their new series, A Year in the Fulbright Life. Each month, spotlighted students will share an update as they continue on their Fulbright journey.

Going to the airport to fly to the United States meant saying goodbye to family and starting a new journey in my life. It also has helped me get out of my comfort zone and go into a new challenge.
Once I arrived at the University of Wisconsin, it was time for orientation. Here I got to know my new colleagues and learn about the university I am going to.
Since arriving, I’ve met another Fulbrighter in the same city. We were able to get around and buy every single item we needed at the local Walmart.
Recently, I visited the Terrace. It is the place where people in Madison, WI go out to eat and drink, listen to good music, and socialize while having a great view on the lake.
Ebrahem is a first-year Fulbright student from Egypt. He is studying Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
